A Taste Of Italy
Angelo's Pizza was incorporated in Smithfield North Carolina in 2008. This restaurant is currently
operating underneath its fourth ownership as an LLC and now over ten years later, Angelo’s Pizza
is still going strong as one of Smithfield’s leading Italian restaurants and pizzerias. Our reputation
for providing exceptionally tasting Italian dishes still rings loud and true.
Meet
MRS. MERYEM LINNEY
Mrs. Meryem Linney is the principal owner of Angelo’s Pizza with the
sale finalized in October 2018. Meryem has a degree in accounting and she
is a prior small business owner. Meryem has additional years of experience
in retail management with some crossover into the restaurant industry.
Her responsibilities with Angelo’s Pizza are mostly administrative, relating
to business accounting, legal compliance, and payroll management. She assists
in the kitchen when necessary in the food prep area. As our primary owner,
Meryem has overall accountability for the business bottom line. Meryem has
lived in North Carolina for decades, currently residing with her husband in
Benson North Carolina.
Meet
CHEF SMITH
Mr. Thomas Smith is our Chef, Restaurant Manager, and Co-Owner of Angelo’s
Pizza. Thomas is the son of owner Meryem Linney. Chef Smith has approximately
a decade of experience in the restaurant industry, working as lead cook, Chef,
and Manager at some fine restaurants in Wake and Johnston counties. His skill
and efficiency in the kitchen is positively solidified and he has transformed
several restaurants where he was previously employed, particularly their back-ends.
Thomas has full control over all restaurant staff and operations specific to food
preparation. Thomas resides in Wake County and makes the long commute to Smithfield
each day to prepare his excellent signature Italian dishes.
Meet
DR. LINNEY
Dr. Jeffrey Linney is the husband of owner Meryem Linney and Co-Owner of
Angelo’s Pizza. Jeffrey works full-time for the state of North Carolina in
post-secondary education and therefore, he serves a more diminished role and presence
at the restaurant. He is a former radio personality and he has supervisory experience
from several years he spent in the retail industry. Jeffrey is a semi-retired North
Carolina law enforcement officer with 20+ years of experience, including time served
as a Police Chief. His responsibilities with regard to Angelo’s Pizza include marketing,
promotion, human resources, and training. Dr. Linney was born and raised in North Carolina
spending many of his adult years in Alexander, Mecklenburg, New Hanover, Franklin, Harnett,
and Johnston Counties.
